The COST Association’s Cross-Cutting Activity (CCA) on Career Development of Young Researchers, together with the Working Group on Gender and Intersectionality, has launched a call for interview participants.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The initiative aims to better understand the lived experiences of women researchers facing intersecting structural challenges in academia across Europe.

The call is open to women researchers at R2 or R3 career levels, based in EU or EFTA countries, working in any scientific discipline and currently affiliated with a university or research institute. Applicants are expected to identify with several dimensions of intersectionality, such as disadvantaged socio-economic background, care responsibilities, migration background, disability or neurodivergence, LGBTQI+ identity, or working in a non-native language.

Interviews will take place in spring 2026, either online or in person, and will focus on career development experiences in research and academia. Participation is voluntary, fully GDPR-compliant, and all data will be anonymised. Insights gathered through the interviews will contribute to evidence-based policy recommendations supporting more equitable research careers in Europe.
